Door Knob Hanger

1. Instructions for Using the Door Knob Hanger

Step 1: Understand the Cleaning Schedule

The cleaning service is scheduled on a fixed day every week. Be aware of this day to plan your cleaning needs.

Step 2: Indicate Need for Cleaning

Place the door knob hanger on the outside handle of your room's door the night before, or no later than 8:00 AM on the designated cleaning day, if you require service.

Step 3: Secure Your Valuables

Secure all valuables and personal items before cleaning. Management is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings.

Step 4: Ensure Your Room Door is Unlocked

Ensure that your room door is not locked from the inside if you wish cleaning staff to enter. Doors that are locked will not be entered, even with a hanger present.

Step 5: Leave Hanger for Ongoing Weekly Cleaning

Leave the hanger on the door after cleaning if you wish to continue receiving cleaning services on the scheduled day each week.

Step 6: Opt-Out of Cleaning

Remove the hanger from your door after cleaning if you do not wish your room to be cleaned the following week.

2. What Will Be Cleaned?

Room (No Attached Bathroom)
Included: Sweeping and mopping the floor only (accessible areas).
Note: The cleaner will not pick up or remove rubbish, tissues, trash, or sanitary waste scattered on the floor. If such items prevent proper sweeping or mopping, the cleaner may skip the service.
Room with Attached Bathroom
Included: Sweeping and mopping the room floor (accessible areas), plus cleaning the bathroom floor (accessible areas), toilet bowl, and basin only.
Note: The cleaner will not pick up or remove rubbish, tissues, trash, or sanitary waste from the room or bathroom floor. Cleaning will not be performed if the toilet bowl contains rubbish or trash, or if there are tissues or trash scattered on the bathroom floor.

3. Terms & Conditions for Cleaning Service

Consent for Entry: By placing this door hanger on your door, you consent to allowing authorised cleaning personnel to enter your room to carry out cleaning services in your absence.
Exclusion of Liability for Loss: The management is not responsible for the loss of or damage to any personal property left unsecured in your room during cleaning. Tenants are advised to secure all valuables.
Reporting Obligations: Any issues regarding theft or damage associated with cleaning must be reported to management within 24 hours for investigation. Failure to report within this timeframe may result in challenges to substantiating such claims.
Video Record for Service Verification: By using the cleaning service (including placing the door hanger and/or allowing access for scheduled cleaning), the Tenant acknowledges and agrees that the cleaner may record a short before-cleaning and after-cleaning video of the room or attached bathroom for service verification and record-keeping purposes. The Tenant must ensure the room is reasonably ready for recording (e.g., valuables and personal items secured) and grants consent for such recording as part of the service. These recordings will be kept as management records for quality control, dispute handling, and to verify compliance with house rules (including checking for any visible house rule breaches within the recorded areas).
Accessibility, Clutter & Rubbish Policy (Room & Bathroom): Cleaning will be performed only on accessible areas in the room and/or attached bathroom. The cleaner will not move or rearrange personal belongings, bags, boxes, furniture, or any items placed on the floor, and will not pick up or remove rubbish, tissues, or trash. If the floor is heavily covered with items or there is excessive rubbish that prevents normal sweeping, mopping, or bathroom cleaning, the cleaner may skip the service or proceed with partial cleaning only. Tenants must clear the floor area and ensure rubbish is properly bagged before the scheduled cleaning time.
Room & Bathroom Hygiene / Refusal of Service: The cleaner will not remove rubbish, tissues, sanitary waste, or any trash from the room floor, bathroom floor, or toilet bowl. If the room or bathroom floor has tissues or trash scattered, or if the toilet bowl is filled with trash such that cleaning cannot be done safely and hygienically, the cleaner may skip the affected area, skip bathroom cleaning, or skip the service entirely. Tenants must clear all trash, bag rubbish properly, and keep floor areas reasonably clear before the scheduled cleaning time.
Staff Conduct: Cleaning personnel are instructed to respect your privacy and personal space. They will limit their presence to areas requiring cleaning.
Right to Withdraw Consent: Tenants may withdraw consent for cleaning services at any time by not placing the door hanger on their door.
Amendment of Terms: The management reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions with prior notice. Continued use of cleaning services after changes to terms signifies acceptance of those changes.
Acknowledgement By placing the door knob hanger and using the cleaning service, the Tenant confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Instructions and Terms & Conditions.
